In accordance with Section 22(5) of the Protected Disclosures Act, as amended by Section 30 of the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Act 2022, public bodies are required to prepare a report not later than the 31 March each year setting out the number of protected disclosures made to it in the course of the immediately preceding year and certain other information relating to any such protected disclosures.
Protected Disclosure procedures are also known as Whistleblowing procedures and are intended to encourage and enable workers to raise concerns about any wrong-doing or malpractice at IMMA. Under this process a worker can make a disclosure without fear of penalisation or threat of less favourable treatment. Anyone who has made a disclosure and who feels like they are being subjected to adverse treatment should report the matter immediately to management.
