IMMA is situated in Dublin 8 and is easily accessible by car, on foot, by rail, bus or bike. On this page you’ll find detailed instructions on how to reach the museum by each mode of transport, and links and maps to plan your journey. IMMA’s galleries are to be found in the main building, and the Freud Centre – a stand-alone building adjacent to the gardens. The Shop is also found in the main building. A new outdoor area called The People’s Pavilion is available on our front lawn adjacent to the Freud Centre. There is also a new pop-up café The Flying Dog located in this area.
The best orientation point is to enter through the main courtyard and look for the large format IMMA letters on the main glass entrance. The staff at the front desk will be happy to help you with your visit from there. You can also view or download the floorplan of our main building below.
The main Museum entrance is on Military Road and directions below are for this entrance. There is also a secondary entrance (Pedestrian only) on South Circular Road, opposite the Courthouse at Kilmainham Gaol.
