Armchair Azure (Online) - Resumes 2024

Our online Armchair Azure programme is taking a short break and will resume in 2024.

“Armchair Azure was something different, something totally new – I can’t believe an hour has passed! I really enjoyed it.”

Armchair Azure is a free online experience designed for people living with dementia and their families and friends, taking place at 2pm on the third Tuesday of the month. During Armchair Azure, you will explore a selection of artwork from IMMA’s Collection with a facilitator who has received special training in dementia-inclusive arts programming. Armchair Azure is facilitated online via Zoom.

To participate you will need a laptop or tablet with a camera to take part. We don’t advise joining on a smart phone as it can be harder to see the image of the artwork we are discussing on a smaller screen.

Places are strictly limited to enable everyone to participate. Booking is essential. For more information and to place your booking, please email [email protected] or phone 01 612 9955.  Once you have booked your place, we will send you a link to the Zoom meeting.

The session will be led virtually through Zoom, a free video conferencing software. Participants should have access to a computer, smart phone, or tablet with a camera and internet access. If you haven’t used Zoom before, you might find the following videos by DEEP the Dementia Voices organisation in the UK helpful: Click here to view the videos.

We also offer free, book-able Armchair Azure online tours to nursing home, dementia-care facilities or dementia support/social groups. A tour can be specially arranged by contacting us as above.
