IMMA is situated in Dublin 8 and is easily accessible by car, on foot, by rail, bus or bike. On this page you’ll find detailed instructions on how to reach the museum by each mode of transport, and links and maps to plan your journey. IMMA’s galleries are to be found in the main building, and the Garden Galleries – a stand-alone building adjacent to the gardens. The Shop is also found in the main building. There is also an outdoor pop-up café Camerino Bakery located in our Courtyard and indoor cafe located in our basement.
The best orientation point is to enter through the main Courtyard and open our Discover IMMA Map. This interactive map will help you uncover the various IMMA Collection outdoor artworks and artist commissions.The staff at the front desk, located in the Courtyard inside the main glass entrance, will be happy to help you with your visit from there.
We are excited to share the news that our Main Reception is about to take on a brand new look. Keeping in line with our vision to be the most dynamic and welcoming cultural destination in Ireland, IMMA is thrilled to announce our collaboration with the design team Culturstruction, who are working with us to enhance your visit by revitalising our reception spaces.
Construction will take place in our Main Reception area from Tuesday, 22 April until mid-June 2024. A temporary reception will be open to visitors on the ground floor, next to the original main entrance at IMMA.
The main Museum entrance is on Military Road and directions below are for this entrance. There is also a secondary entrance (Pedestrian only) on South Circular Road, opposite the Courthouse at Kilmainham Gaol.
