British photographer Martin Parr studied photography at Manchester Polytechnic. He joined Magnum Photographic Corporation in 1994. In 2004, Parr became Professor of Photography at the University of Wales Newport and served as Guest Artistic Director for Rencontres D’Arles. He has received numerous photographic awards and published over 70 books. His work is held in major public collections including MoMA, New York; Tate Modern; SFMOMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
