Born in The Netherlands and based in Dublin, Anita Groener exhibits her drawings, paintings, installations, films, and animations internationally. Charged with a socio-political consciousness, her work connects personal legacy to universal narratives and histories of migration and home asking what it is to be human today.
Groener has shown in Ireland, the USA, Asia and Europe including at IMMA Dublin; the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin; Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Schiedam; Riverside Art Museum, Beijing and CCI Paris. In 2005, she was elected a member of Aosdána. Until 2014 she was a Fine Art lecturer at TU Dublin where she also served as the Head of Fine Art from 2004 to 2006.
