About the Artist

Anita Groener b.1958

Dutch artist Anita Groener attended the Moller Institute, Tilburg, and the Academy of Visual Arts, Arnhem. She moved to Ireland in the 1980s. Working primarily in painting and drawing, Groener is concerned with ideas of journey and the road as a symbol of contemporary culture. Groener has exhibited extensively including at IMMA, the Royal Hibernian Academy, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and the Drawing Centre Deipenheim. She was Head of Fine Art in Dublin Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2006.
