IMMA welcomes applications for Dwell Here 2026: One Year Studio Residencies for locally based practices. This opportunity invites applications across disciplines of the visual arts, design, architecture, curation, and related humanities fields. Successful applicants will be supported to undertake independent site-responsive research.
IMMA’s Dwell Here programme is structured around seasonal Research Assemblies delivered together through week-long forums with an expanded community of mentors, peers, and fellow residents gathering onsite for communal engagement and interdisciplinary dialogue.
A one year studio residency includes a requirement to engage with and share process-based research with the expanded community participating in each Research Assembly, the dates of which are:
Spring: Wednesday 18 – Tuesday 24 February 2026
Summer: Wednesday 10 – Tuesday 16 June 2026
Autumn: Wednesday 23 – Tuesday 29 September 2026
Dwell Here Research Themes (see further down) will inform assembly planning with residents. Engagements may surface as a workshop, a temporary exhibition, a reading group, a walking tour, an open studio, a talk, a site visit, a performance, or other studio related activities for the onsite community and invited guests.
