The Collectors Circle is a community of people impassioned by our ambition to make the IMMA Collection a living, breathing embodiment of our cultural identity in a global and historical context, and an aspiration for who we wish to become.
While we apply to the Department for funding support for our Collection on an annual basis, we need philanthropic support if we are to address the gaps in our Collection and deliver on our ambition to be representative of a radically inclusive perspective.
This is an invitation and call-to-action for generous art, culture, and social change enthusiasts who are as passionate as we are about addressing diversity gaps, and opening doors to artists who have previously been overlooked. In joining us you support IMMA to continue to build the National Collection in inclusive and gender-balanced directions, responsive also to our beautiful planet and the role we can play in its preservation.
At the centre of our museum is the IMMA Collection; the nation’s permanent Collection comprising some 4,500 works which exhibit enormous range and depth. The Collection is a unique visual expression of who we are in a global and historical context. We share this national resource through exhibitions at IMMA and other venues nationally and internationally, engagement and learning programmes, and digital resources.
In keeping with the pillars of our 2024 – 2028 Strategic Plan, we are committed to expanding the Collection to reflect a greater diversity of art and artists, and to include work that has been previously ignored, overlooked, or simply underrepresented.
We will specifically look to artists whose gender, race, sexuality, or background has impacted the visibility of their work within the current and past ecosystems of the artworld, and whose lives and art are of research interest and relevance to contemporary Irish and international artists.
There are three standard levels of support to choose from, each strengthening and accelerating the impact we wish to deliver, while deepening your involvement with the IMMA community and network of supporters.
