American artist Chuck Close studied at the University of Washington, Seattle and at Yale University under master printer Gabor Peterdi. Close gained critical attention in 1970 with a series of monumental painted canvases of himself and his friends. He has exhibited internationally and his work is represented in public and private collections worldwide.
