Concetto Pozzati was born in Padua Vo in 1935 and moved to Bologna in 1949 where he attended the local Art Institute. In 1955 he studied advertising in Paris at the atelier of his uncle, the successful advertising illustrator Sever or ‘Sepo’. They founded a School of Art Advertising in Bologna together in 1960. Pozzati also taught graphic design at the Art Institute of Bologna between 1956 and 1967. From 1967 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, where he served as director until 1973. He is currently a professor of painting at the Belle Arti Academy in Bologna. From the mid 1950’s his work was exhibited extensively nationally, he participated in the Venice Biennales of 1964, 1972 and 1982.
