German artist Thomas Scheibitz attended Dresden Art Academy. Scheibitz’s paintings are composed of geometrical formations, containing recognizable, reoccurring symbols. He combines these abstract landscapes with architectural elements to convey the underlying principles of our seemingly well-ordered world. Scheibitz represented Germany in the 2004 Bienal de São Paulo and the 2005 Venice Biennale. A solo exhibition of his work took place at IMMA in 2007.
