Welsh sculptor Richard Deacon attended Somerset College of Art, St. Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Constructed in pliable materials including sheet metal and laminated wood, Deacon’s sculptural works explore ideas of physical experience and the body as a gatherer of information. Deacon received the Turner Prize in 1987. He has exhibited worldwide and his work is represented in major public collections including MoMA, New York; Tate, London; the Royal Academy of Arts, London, and the Museu d´Art Contemporani de Barcelona.
To ensure the health and safety of the public, in line with current government restrictions, IMMA’s galleries will close from 24 December until further notice. All tickets purchased for Paula Rego, Obedience and Defiance exhibition will be refunded over the next two weeks. We appreciate your patience during this time.
