Welsh sculptor Richard Deacon attended Somerset College of Art, St. Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Constructed in pliable materials including sheet metal and laminated wood, Deacon’s sculptural works explore ideas of physical experience and the body as a gatherer of information. Deacon received the Turner Prize in 1987. His work is represented in major public collections including MoMA, New York; Tate, London; and the Museu d´Art Contemporani de Barcelona.
