Swiss artist, architect and writer Max Bill trained as a silversmith at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Zurich, before enrolled in the Bauhaus, Dessau, to study architecture. At the Bauhaus he studied under Josef Albers, Paul Klee and Vasily Kandinsky. An early exponent of the principles of Concrete art, Bill was also a prolific painter, graphic designer and writer. Bill completed many significant architectural projects and his art work has been exhibited extensively in Europe and the US.
