Born in Northern Ireland, Mark Francis attended St. Martin's School of Art and the Chelsea School of Art. Poised between abstraction and representation, Francis’s wet-on-wet paintings and prints are derived from biological and cellular forms and refer to man's internal environment or biology. Francis has exhibited internationally, including a solo exhibition at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane in 2008. His work is represented in significant public and private collections.
