Jonathan Wade (1941–1973) was an Irish artist born in Dublin, and he was celebrated for his powerful urban and industrial landscapes. He studied part-time at the National College of Art and Design. His paintings were often described as ferocious, focusing on the decay of the modern environment. He tragically died in a motorcycle accident at age 31. His work has been held in major institutions like the Arts Council and museums like the Hugh Lane Gallery.
