Northern Irish sculptor John Aiken studied at the Chelsea School of Art, London. Using materials including sand, stone, steel and wood, Aiken’s practice is informed by military architecture and the aesthetics of geometry and rational construction. He has exhibited extensively since the 1980s and has completed large-scale sculptures and environmental works at locations including St Anne’s Square, Belfast; Newgate Bastion, Derry; University College Hospital, London and Paddington Central, London.
