Janine Antoni was born in the Bahamas. She holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She received the MacArthur Fellowship in 1998 and the Larry Aldrich Foundation Award in 1999 and was a 2011 Guggenheim Fellow. Antoni has exhibited extensively in the United States and teaches at Columbia University School of the Arts.
