Irish artist Ian Sutherland was born in Donegal, grew up in Argentina and Peru, and studied art in London. Sutherland lectured at the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork from 1981 until 1986. In 1988 he settled in Paris where he teaches painting and drawing at École Nationale Supérieure Des Arts Décoratifs.
