Puerto Rican graphic artist and designer Consuelo Gotay studied at the University of Puerto Rico, Colombia University, New York, the Center for Book Arts in New York and the Canadian School for Non-Toxic Printmaking. Gotay was a Professor and Director of the Graphic Arts Department of the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico where she developed a book arts workshop and implemented the technique of engraving in the development of the artist’s book.
