After months of Zoom meetings and looking deep into our computer screens, we invite you to take a break and instead, let’s Zoom into the natural world at IMMA. Joan Walker, from our Visitor Engagement Team, will facilitate this workshop where you can immerse yourself visually in the extraordinary beauty found within flowers, leaves, bark and insects. Using pastels as our medium, enjoy time outdoors seeking out and focusing in on the intricate details of flowers, plant life and leaf patterns.
The workshop will focus on capturing colour and form, delving into the abstract. For inspiration renowned artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower paintings inspired the art world with her deep flower paintings and within the IMMA Collection we can look at the simple beauty of William McKeown’s, Open Drawing – Primrose #2, 2003.
Due to current regulations on social distancing, places are limited to 13, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Appropriate footwear and clothing are recommended as this will be take place outdoors.
