This exhibtion is part of an ongoing strand in the exhibition programme, which introduces to Ireland for the first time the work of younger non-Irish artists who are achieving international recognition. The 2001 exhibition includes the work of artists whose practice is informed by everyday life and inevitably addresses current issues, from ecology and technology to popular culture and globalism.
Artists featured in this exhibition include painters Daniel Richter (Germany) and Michael Raedecker (The Netherlands/UK), and mixed media installations, sculptures and environments by Yinka Shonibare (UK/Nigeria), Ernesto Neto (Brazil), Ugo Rondinone (Switzerland/USA) and Rob Pruitt (USA).
