12 – 16 May 2004
They’ve a lot on their plates!
An exhibition of some 36 plates by the nine students who are in contention for the €1000 Arnotts Ceramic Design Awards 2004 opens to the public on Wednesday 12 May at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The awards include three monetary prizes and for the overall winner the honour of having one of their plates become part of the permanent collection of the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks. The jury will consider the work of nine second-year students from the Ceramics Department at the National College of Art and Design. Each entrant will present a group of plates exploring their chosen idea and the overall prize will go to the most outstanding body of work. The Arnotts Ceramic Design Awards 2004 are generously sponsored by Arnotts and presented in association with NCAD and IMMA.
The exhibition continues until 16 May 2004. There will be a second opportunity to see the exhibition at Arnotts store on Henry Street from 25 May until 5 June 2004.
Admission is Free. Exhibition open Museum hours.
