Join artist Joe Coveney for a practical art workshop taking place in the IMMA Studios over the mid-term. In this two day workshop we will focus on the exhibition Sunset, Sunrise by Iranian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian.
Farmanfarmaian’s art works include painting, sculpture, jewellery, tapestry, collages and works on paper, and they often incorporate a kaleidoscope-like range of rich colours set within geometric and architectural forms.
In exploring the practice of Farmanfarmaian our art making in the studio will involve thinking more about shapes and geometry and collaborating on a group sculptural drawing. We’ll use this as a springboard to develop our own individual drawings and some further 3D work.
This is a great opportunity to meet and work with a contemporary artist, gain knowledge and practical experience of contemporary art in the galleries, discuss ideas and create art.
