Taylor is undertaking a series of creative workshops based on introducing members of the UL Aerobics Class to contemporary film works from the IMMA Collection during their workout class times. The videos will be screened during class times to stimulate discussion about contemporary art practices with the group.

The result will be the realisation of a new collaborative sound/performance art work based on the vocal/whistling instructions of the aerobic instructor, coupled with aerobic and fitness based patterns /movements. The finished artwork will be located within the existing workout routine, and will become a permanent feature of the group’s workout.

The performance will be documented by the filmmaker David Bickley and this documentation will be accompanied by a publication. The publication will include an interview with Sean Taylor by Karen Normoyle-Haugh. The publication will also include an introduction from Patricia Moriarty, Arts Officre, UL, Johanne Mullan, National Programmer, IMMA, and Mark Maguire, Curator, Education & Community, IMMA.

Film work by the following artists from the IMMA Collection will be screened for the purposes of the project; Cecily Brennan, Brian Duggan, Lu Chunsheng, Dorothy Cross, Ann Hamilton, Paddy Jolley, Caroline McCarthy and Isabel Nolan.
