Sharon Paz, The Neighbours Yard, 2005, Process Room, IMMA  Sharon Paz, The Neighbours Yard, 2005, Process Room, IMMA

"I want to be able to knock on my neighbours door and say hi, my name is Sharon, I live just next to you and I was always curious about your home, about what it looks like, and your friends, and family.  What do you do for a living?  Do you want to come over for a coffee or tea some day, when you have time."

The Neighbours Yard presents the unreachable, the thing hidden behind a wall of the neighbour, the things you want to know but dont dare to ask, the garbage bag you wish to open, the fear of taking the wrong step, the things you loose, the thoughts you want to share but stay in your mind.

Born in 1969 in Israel, Sharon moved to New York in 1996 where she received a Masters of Fine Art from Hunter College.  She has lived and worked in Berlin since 2004.  Her work is part of the Collection of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; The Brandes Family Art Collection, Israel and Guy and Marion Naggar, London.  In the past Sharon took part in New Views: DUMBO Residency, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, was a resident at Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in Maine, 2001 and has participated and exhibited in The Bronx Museum of Arts "Artist in the Marketplace" Programme.  In 2003 Sharon exhibited a one-person show in the Herzlyia Museum in Israel.  She has exhibited extensively on an international basis in galleries such as White Box Gallery, Artist Space, Pace Digital Gallery and JCCNY, in New York City, in Espace Huit Novembre Centre Dart, Paris, France and Peer Gallery, Israel.  Her work has been screened at Thomas Erben Gallery in New York City.  Sharon has taken part in numerous film and video festivals around the world including "CTRL [space]", internationalmediaart award 2001 in ZKM, Germany.
