IMMA invites teachers and tutors from pre-primary, primary, secondary and third-level schools and colleges to bring their student groups to IMMA any time during opening hours. Teachers and tutors can book bespoke guided tours and talks focused on specific exhibitions, and can access related digital resources, such as study notes and videos. Book a free Guided Tour for your primary level class and explore Ireland’s National Cultural Institution for Modern and Contemporary Art. Check out the various types of free tours available to your class below.
IMMA is situated in the historic Royal Hospital Kilmainham, which includes a formal garden and large meadows, so there is plenty of space for outdoor exercise and a class picnic in the fresh air. Group leaders/ teachers may want to optimise their day out, so it is useful to know that IMMA is walking distance from both Kilmainham Gaol and the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks. There is also a paid car park to the rear of the main building. Visit IMMA’s new digital Heritage Trail.
