The Novak / O’Doherty Collection will open in the New Galleries on the occasion of the generous gift by art historian Barbara Novak and artist Brian O’Doherty / Patrick Ireland to the IMMA Collection. The gift consists of watercolours, drawings, limited edition prints & multiples and photographs as well as some striking paintings and sculpture which range across 20th century American art, in particular New York art of the 1960s and ‘70s.
It will include artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Christo, Edward Hopper, Sonja Sekula, Sol Lewitt, Mel Bochner, George Segal, Hans Namuth, John Coplans, Diana Mitchener and many others.
