To celebrate a five-year loan of approximately 50 artworks from the collection of Maire and Maurice Foley, the Museum is showing a representative selection of some 30 of these works throughout the summer. The collection is particularly strong in painting and sculpture by Irish artists active throughout the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. Artists featured in this exhibition include Charles Brady, Felim Egan, Martin Gale, Dorothy Cross and Nick Miller.
The selection illustrates both the range and quality of the loan. It embrasses painting, drawing, print making and sculpture and depicts landscapes, still life, abstaction and narrative.
