‘Lifescapes’ comprises works from the permanent and loan collections which refer to mental and physical locations and how we place ourselves in relation to them. This display will include important installations such as Vong Phaophanit’s ‘Neon Rice Field’ and two rooms from ‘The Children’s Hospital’ by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. A new video work by Belgian artist Marie-Jo La Fontaine will be shown along with paintings by Sean Fingleton and the recently purchased ‘Avail’ by John Bellany. Other artists whose work is being shown include Rachel Whiteread, Fergus Martin, Hamish Fulton, Michael the Cartographer and other artists from the long-term loan of Outsider Art.
