Pankaj Mishra, Indian born writer, mixes memoir, reportage, history and philosophy in his writing. Mishra’s most recent book is Temptations of the West: How to be Modern in India, Pakistan, and Beyond, which discusses the fate of western-style modernity in South Asian countries.
