This summer, IMMA reopens with a new outdoor area called The People’s Pavilion. Located on the front lawn The People’s Pavilion is a public space where friends and families can meet safely in our Social Distancing Circles and enjoy IMMA and its beautiful grounds.

The People’s Pavilion will be activated by a diverse programme of events on a weekly basis to engage audiences of all ages. This programme will include workshops, drawing classes, garden tours, yoga classes and a series of live events along with several pop-up events with local community groups and artist collectives. All programming will be sensitively designed and carefully executed to ensure people’s safety. Please visit our social media channels for weekly updates.

In addition to these events we are encouraging visitors to use The People’s Pavilion as a gathering place for picnics, and as a starting point for those who are interested in exploring the natural beauty of the gardens and grounds of IMMA. Before your visit you can download art trails and maps detailing the plants, flowers and trees that can be found on our campus, these can be downloaded under Additional Resources further down this page.

Also available from the IMMA Reception is the IMMA Explorer Pack. This free family activity pack includes an activity booklet with games, puzzles and tasks, as well as a pack of colouring pencils and an Explorer identity badge.

The People’s Pavilion is complimented by a new outdoor pop-up café The Flying Dog opening from Tuesday 30 June. The café is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sundays from 12noon to 6pm.

The People’s Pavilion holds a ‘Bring Your Own Seat & Leave No Trace’ policy and will remain open until 20 September 2020.
