To coincide with the current exhibition A Vague Anxiety, a group show of emerging artists looking at issues such as housing, the environment, gender and sexuality, IMMA is hosting a workshop facilitated by artist Jan McCullough.
McCullough states “While anxiety suggests a fear of the unknown, desire implies a willingness or a need to engage this unknown. With the workshop participants, I would like to explore the concepts of photography and desire”.
This is a relaxed workshop, with participants having the opportunity to explore what media images evoke desire; this will be done through the tactile process of collage-making and the translation of this work into light installation. Participants with all levels of creative experience are welcome and a light lunch will be provided. Places are limited, to reserve your place please book online.
While it’s not a requirement, we would encourage participants to view the A Vague Anxiety exhibition prior to the workshop if possible.
This event is booked out.
