An Daingean Courthouse, An Daingean, Co Chiarraí
The symposium will launch the H2O project, the purpose of which is to exchange the experience of art making in a peripheral location vis á vis the cultural centre and to forge lasting links between three artists groups – North Norwegian Artists Union, Norway; Twozywo group, Warsaw, Poland and Courthouse Studios, An Daingean. Artists and curators from the three countries will gather for a series of seminars, talks and events based around an exploration of the relationship between periphery and centre. Artists Frantisk and Tim Gilman who are currently participating on the Museum’s Artist’s Residency Programme will give a presentation on their working practice. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion chaired by Catherine Marshall, Senior Curator: Head of Collections, IMMA.
