We are delighted to offer guided tours for special interest groups including schools, colleges and adult/community education.

Tours are 45 minutes in duration and are led by IMMA staff. There are set times for guided tours: Tuesday to Friday at 9.30am; 10:00am, 10.30am, 11.00am and 2.30pm.  Tours are free of charge, and certain terms and conditions apply to our tours. Please read these in advance of making a booking.

Terms & Conditions for Schools and Groups

Booking Notice
Tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance of your intended visit. Please give us as much notice as possible to help secure your preferred date and time. We cannot respond to requests for tours within a two week timeframe. Group size
All children and school groups must be accompanied by an adult throughout the tour. Two adults should accompany each school group (Max. 32 pupils). Please contact the museum should you have difficulty meeting these requirements.
Maximum Adult group size is 50.

General
Touching artworks is not permitted, due to the delicate nature of their materials.
Photography is only possible in certain galleries, in accordance with the artist’s instructions. Please check with your tour guide, or any member of the Visitor Engagement Team, before taking any photographs. Photographs may only be taken for personal use. Flash photography is never permitted.
School bags or backpacks must be stored in the lockers provided or left in an area designated by Mediators.
Food and liquids are not permitted in the galleries.
Please arrive in reception at the time confirmed for the tour to start.
For children under twelve, please give each child a name label before the tour begins.

Facilities
A basement room near the cafe is available for primary schools students eating packed lunches. You can book this space online as part of the tour booking process.
IMMA is fully wheelchair accessible. Manual wheelchairs are available upon request. Please give us as much information as possible about any particular needs your group might have in the comment section of the online booking process.

If, due to unexpected or unforeseen circumstances, your tour date needs to be changed by IMMA we will contact you to arrange a new date.
