In this Explorer at Home, we invite you to join the celebrations for IMMA’s 30th Birthday. We are marking this important year with our new programme IMMA Outdoors which will see lots of exciting events and activities happening in our grounds. This summer we will also be opening our new exhibition The Narrow Gate of the Here-and-Now showcasing our wonderful IMMA Collection, and looking back at our 30 year history.

We would love you to share in this celebration with us. In this project we are making birthday cards for IMMA. This card can feature your favourite IMMA artwork that you have seen on a visit to our galleries, or here on our website. It could be inspired by one of our exhibitions, or it could even share a memory of a special day you spent at IMMA with family, friends or your class. The choice is yours!

You can design your card using paint, crayons, pencils, collage, photographs or text.

What you will need:

• Card or Paper
• Pencils/ Markers/ Paint
• Paper offcuts or pictures for collage
• Glue stick
• Scissors

Now let’s get to work:

• First plan the design of your card, what will it look like?
• Will it be based on an artwork?
• A visit you made to IMMA? Or our gardens, building or nature around the museum?
• What materials will you choose?
