Established in 2021, Earth Rising is Ireland’s leading festival exploring the connections between clime, culture, and collective action. The festival invites people to explore the big questions of our time through art, creativity, and a strong sense of community. Presented by IMMA, the festival has grown steadily over four years (2021-2025), welcoming ever wider and more engaged audiences.
In the latter half of 2026, Ireland will host the EU Presidency, and IMMA is proud to be a key venue for this significant moment. As a result, Earth Rising will not take place in 2026.
We are using this pause as an opportunity to reflect on the future of the festival, including its format, timing, and whether Earth Rising continues annually or moves to a biennial rhythm.
Once decisions are finalised, all opportunities to get involved will be shared through IMMA’s website and social channels. We encourage you to keep an eye out for updates.
Podcast Series
Drawing on recordings from Earth Rising 2025, this new podcast series opens up the conversations, ideas and moments that unfolded across the festival weekend. The series brings together talks, panels and live discussions exploring climate, culture and collective action, alongside sound bites and audio fragments captured across the festival campus – from quiet reflections to shared moments of energy and debate.
Rather than polished studio recordings, these podcasts hold onto the texture of the festival itself: voices in conversation, ideas in motion, and the atmosphere of people coming together to think, listen and imagine new ways forward. Each episode offers space to sit with complex questions, hopeful provocations, and practical reflections on how we live, care, and act in a changing world.
Published monthly, the Earth Rising podcast series offers open access to these conversations for anyone who couldn’t attend in person, as well as those who want to return to them again. Whether listened to in sequence or dipped into episode by episode, the series is an invitation to stay connected to the spirit of Earth Rising, curious, collective, and grounded in care.
