As part of the Azure Network, IMMA is offering special tailor-made free tours of specific artworks for people living with dementia and their family, friends, and carers. The next tour takes place on Thursday 7 September at 11am.

In the relaxed and welcoming environment of the museum, participants can discuss and explore our exhibitions, facilitated by IMMA staff members who are specifically trained in providing art tours for people with dementia. At the end of the tour, we finish up with an optional complimentary tea or coffee and a chat in IMMA’s on-site Itsa café.

How to Book?
You can book this Azure tour by contacting Caroline or Barbara via email to [email protected] or telephone to 01 612 9955. If booking in advance doesn’t suit, people with dementia and their family, friends and carers are also more than welcome to come along to the tour as a ‘drop-in’ attendees – just meet us at reception at the time/date mentioned above.

We also offer Azure tours to Dementia Care facilities or Dementia Support Organisations who wish to bring groups to visit IMMA. Such tours can be specially arranged by contacting Caroline or Barbara via email to [email protected] or telephone to 01 612 9955.

IMMA is part of the Azure Network, an alliance of cultural organisations that aim for greater inclusion of people with dementia in an Irish cultural context. Inspired by the ‘Meet Me at MoMA’ programme for people with dementia at MoMA The Museum of Modern Art, Azure’s primary objective is to reduce the barriers experienced by people with dementia and their carers in accessing cultural organisations, and to ensure that every aspect of their engagement with these organisations is sensitive to their needs
