Howardena Pindell, A Renewed Language
Friday 13 October: 1.15pm – 2pm
Join Annie Fletcher, Director, IMMA for a gallery talk on the work of Howardena Pindell – artist, activist, and educator who works through the media of painting, drawing, print and video. Now in her 80th year, this talk will explore the ways in which Pindell’s work and use of materials and media is informed by her own story of abstraction, the artist’s sense of urgent social political issues, and lived experiences as a black artist and a woman, working in New York from 1970s to the present day.
All Talks are Free. No booking required. Meeting Point – IMMA Main Reception (unless otherwise stated).
