IMMA is delighted to be part of Culture Date with Dublin 8, a neighbourhood initiative celebrating the cultural and historical life of Dublin 8. Through a host of free family friendly activities Culture Date with Dublin 8 aims to encourage people to explore what is on their doorstep.

IMMA’s programme for the weekend includes exclusive guided tours of IMMA’s exhibitions, free entry into landmark exhibitions by two of the greatest painters of the 20th century Lucian Freud and Frank Bowling, family workshop and activity packs, and self-guided garden trails.

All events are free and will take place in the Kilmainham and Inchicore district which include IMMA, The Phoenix Park, The Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Kilmainham Gaol, Richmond Barracks and Goldenbridge Cemetery. There are two flagship events – The Irish National War Memorial Family Fun Day and an Outdoor Concert in Goldenbridge Cemetery.

Culture Date with Dublin 8 will also be participating in National Drawing Day on Saturday 19 May where all venues will be encouraging you to explore the theme Inspirational Settings in D8 throughout the course of your visit. Click here for details of IMMA’s Drawing Day workshops.
