As part of our exhibition series, The Narrow Gate of Here and Now, we are delighted to host a workshop with artist Leda Scully.
Leda’s knowledge of textiles, in particular complex knitting patterns, ties in with the exhibition The Narrow Gate of the Here-and-Now, Social Fabric currently on show in our Courtyard Galleries. This exhibition features many variations of textile art from artists such as Sarah Browne, Kathy Prendergast and Bassam Al Sabah.
This two hour workshop will introduce you to colorwork knitting, creating motifs and patterns by knitting with two colours in a row.
Please note that this is an advanced knitting practice, suitable only for experienced knitters and particularly those who have a knowledge of knitting in the round.
Circular needles will be provided for participants who may need them. Please bring double pointed needles and any wool that you would like to use.
This workshop is free to attend, places are limited.
