The IMMA Collection is a unique resource which is made available to the public through a vibrant programme of temporary exhibitions and projects. Collection Exhibitions may explore the work of an individual artist, or address a theme or historic period.
Join us this Friday 10 July from 11am to 1.30pm at The People’s Pavilion for an exploration of Big Sky painting. We will begin with a presentation of ‘big skies’ through the art ages. We will also include works from the IMMA Collection from artists such as Patrick Hall, Elizabeth Magill and William McKeown. The talk will be facilitated by Joan and Trish from the Visitor Engagement Team, who will then lead a painting workshop where you can create your ‘Big Sky’.
The long west avenue from IMMA to the Kilmainham gate provides a fantastic high view northward to the Phoenix Park and Wellington monument. Here you will see a sky stretching far and wide, making it an excellent location for your painting.
Please bring your own art materials to use at the workshop, materials will only be provided if necessary.
Booking
Due to current regulations on social distancing, places for Big Sky are limited to 10, so book early to avoid disappointment. If you would like to book your free place, contact Chris Jones [email protected]
