IMMA welcomes you to join one of our four bespoke Bealtaine tours which will focus on the current exhibition Acts of Mourning by internationally renowned installation artist and sculptor Doris Salcedo.
Doris Salcedo (1958) is a Colombian artist whose work addresses challenging themes with a powerful grace. Her artworks are often composed of commonplace items such as furniture, clothing, concrete and organic materials. Salcedo is influenced by her experiences of life in Colombia which gives form to pain, trauma, and loss, while creating space for individual and collective mourning.
Joining one of our guided tours is a great way to get to know IMMA and our exhibitions in more detail. Our experienced guides are extremely knowledgeable about art and IMMA’s exhibitions.
This event is organised in association with Age & Opportunity as part of the nationwide Bealtaine festival – celebrating the arts and creativity as we age.
Tours are free of charge. Each tour lasts 30 mins. Please arrive early for tours as numbers are limited (max 20). The tour will commence in IMMA reception.
