Celebrate Bealtaine at IMMA this May and join us for a programme of events, workshops, talks and tours, including dementia-inclusive programmes, both in-person and online, all free of charge. Bookings for all events can be made by emailing [email protected] or phoning 01 612 9955.

IMMA is proud to partner with the Bealtaine Festival, Ireland’s national festival celebrating the arts and creativity as we age. This festival is organised by Age & Opportunity, the leading national development organisation working to enable the best possible quality of life as we age. This programme of Bealtaine events at IMMA is part of Bealtaine Roots and Shoots Visual Arts Programme. Roots & Shoots is an exciting nationwide programme of Visual Arts events taking place as part of the Bealtaine Festival and in partnership with Irelands leading visual artists organisations.

Kinships & Collectives Talk and Panel Discussion

A special event focusing on art collectives, cultural integration and ageing, presented in association with the retrospective exhibition, Patricia Hurl, Irish Gothic at IMMA. Following a collaborative exchange between Na Cailleacha and Art Nomads, Bealtaine Festival and IMMA will co-host a panel discussion with members of both artists’ collectives, with invited respondents focusing on their shared politics of artists collectives and the visions that drive them.

Take a close look at selected artworks from the IMMA Collection and discuss with our Visitor Engagement Team. These events are specifically designed to support people living with dementia and their family, friends or professional carers, to engage with the art work on show and enjoy a social museum experience.
