This lecture focuses on notions such as authenticity and ‘the fake’ and will look at how differing senses of self and subjectivity effect how we might think and engage with the world. Programmed in collaboration with IADT- ARC as part of the IMMA digital_self public programme of talks, events and online projects invites all ages to explore the ways new technologies are transforming how the self is voiced, shaped and understood in various digital realms.

Dr Sinéad Hogan is Lecturer + Co-Director ARC MA, who specialises in art practice, aesthetics, philosophy, critical theory. Hogan’s primary research focuses on, and through, the practices of phenomenology and art, in particular the phenomenology of nihilism, of colour, of the image and the histories of iconography and iconoclasm. She is interested in working with researchers in these areas and in particular with those engaging with aesthetics within an ‘other-than-Art’ context. I am currently completing a book project titled ‘aesthetics (:) of thinking’.
