    Joaquín Ferrer, b.1929

    Cuban painter Joaquín Ferrer was born in Manzanilla and studied at the School of Fine Arts in Havana. In 1958 he restored and installed a Roman mosaic in the Museo Nacional in Havana and founded an engraving school. Ferrer won a government scholarship in 1960 that allowed him to continue his art education in Paris and he became a French citizen in 1979.
