    Mieko Shiomi b.1938

    Japanese musician and visual artist Mieko Shiomi, also known as Chieko, attended the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 1960, she was a founding member of the group Ongaku (Music). In 1964, she went to New York and participated in the Fluxus events taking place there. She released ‘Requiem For George Maciunas’ in 1990 as part of a Fluxus retrospective at the Venice Biennale; and ‘Fluxus Suite: a Musical Dictionary Of 80 People Around Fluxus’ in 2020.
