    Mimmo Paladino b.1948

    Italian artist Mimmo Paladino attended the Liceo Artistico di Benevento. From the 1970s, he was associated with the ‘Transavanguardia' group of painters in Milan. Paladino’s figurative drawings, paintings and sculptural works reference classical mythology, Christianity, and the history of art to reflect on the nature of faith, death and ritual. Paladino exhibited extensively from the 1980s. A major exhibition of his paintings and sculpture was held at IMMA in 1993.
