Born in Bray in 1961, John Lalor attended Limerick School of Art.  An accomplished painter, sculptor, scenographer, filmmaker and writer, he uses paintings in multiples, maquettes and scaled models, texts and film to problematise the medium of paint and explore the relationship between painting, film and text. Lalor has been based between Ireland and Paris since the late 1980s and his work has been exhibited widely in both Ireland and France.
